About KannadaGothu

KannadaGothu began as a hobby project by Abhinav Vasudevan, born from a personal journey of learning Kannada. As someone passionate about languages and cultural exchange, Abhinav recognized the challenges many face when trying to learn Kannada outside traditional classroom settings.

What started as a personal tool quickly evolved into a mission to make Kannada learning more accessible to everyone. The name "KannadaGothu" reflects this mission — in Kannada, "gothu" (ಗೊತ್ತು) means "known" or "familiar," embodying our aim to make Kannada familiar to learners, one word at a time.

Unlike conventional language learning apps that can sometimes overwhelm beginners, KannadaGothu takes a mindful, minimalist approach. By presenting just one carefully selected word each day through your browser, we help you build a strong foundation without the pressure of intensive study sessions.

We believe that language learning is not just about memorizing words but understanding the cultural context that gives them meaning. Each word in KannadaGothu comes with contextual usage examples that offer glimpses into Karnataka's rich culture and daily life.

KannadaGothu remains a passion project, continuously refined with care and attention to create the most effective Kannada learning experience possible.
